Pam Schulte

I turned to yoga in my 20s to rehabilitate from a rotator cuff injury. Initially it was the physical benefits that kept me rolling out my yoga mat day after day.  Once I began learning about the philosophy behind the physical practice, yoga became something that changed my life.  In my late 20s I reevaluated my life, left my job in the corporate world and took a year off to study yoga in New York.  It is because of how yoga has changed me as a person that I am still doing it today and love teaching it to others.

I believe wholeheartedly that the breath holds the key to bringing together the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga…ultimately leading to total transformation.  I have been teaching yoga in St Louis since 1998 and have over 12,000 hours of teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities. I am a 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and offer a 200-hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training and 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.

My group classes focus on connecting breath with movement to create a meditation in motion. I view my students as snowflakes…meaning no two students bodies are exactly alike. Through my teaching, students learn how to modify the poses for their unique make up. I have a compassionate style which encourages students to alter the practice as needed based on whatever they may have going on.  I think most of us take things too seriously, so I bring a lighthearted attitude to the yoga mat that helps make yoga enjoyable and accessible to everyone! I strive to inspire, challenge and empower students to take responsibility for their practice…on and off the yoga mat.  I teach group classes, workshops, customized private lessons, chair yoga for seniors and special populations and teacher trainings.

I am grateful to the thousands of students over the years who have been my greatest teachers, and also to all the wonderful instructors whose wisdom have informed my teaching.  I look forward to seeing you on the mat!

Evening Flow with Pam

Synchronizing breath with movement, these flow classes start with simple joint loosening movements then sun salutes are used to further warm the body and get the energy moving.  These classes balance strength with flexibility, movement with stillness, and effort with ease. All classes include breath awareness, sun salutations, standing poses, and floor poses. Modifications are given for multiple levels, and students are taught to pay attention to safe alignment while flowing though the postures. If you are new to yoga, or have injuries or limitations contact Pam to see if this class is an appropriate choice.

Gentle Yoga with Pam

Come recharge your mind, body and spirit with gentle yoga classes designed to alleviate tension in key areas of the body:  neck, back, hips and shoulders.  Both flowing movements and static poses will melt tension in the joints and muscles, and calm the nervous system.  Make time for a happier body, calmer mind, and a more peaceful YOU!  This class will be very accessible, so if you find most regular yoga classes too intense this might be what you have been looking for.
