Kelly Martin

Kelly Martin, RYT-200 is a Saint Louis native.  Her quest to harmonize body, mind and spirit led her to begin practicing yoga in 2002 and to complete her 200-hour certification in 2013.  Kelly sees yoga practice as a tool to instill change and growth in ones life.  She brings humor, support and a non-judgmental attitude to her classes for a fun and nurturing learning environment. Classes are open to students of all yoga practice levels.

Kelly describes herself as a “yoga practicing, vegetable and dark chocolate loving everyday yoga instructor.”   Kelly says: “You may not hear a lot of Sanskrit in my classes but you’ll probably get plenty of corny jokes, lots of core and balance work, and plenty of deep stretches.” 

Teaching yoga is one of Kelly’s greatest pleasures.  Kelly practices yoga to nourish her teaching but teaches yoga to nourish her life.

Vinyasa Practice

Kelly Martin teaches a relaxed-paced Vinyasa practice focusing on the mind body connection and the therapeutic aspects of yoga.  In her class, there is a strong emphasis on the breath and mindfully moving through the asanas (postures).  Students should expect to be challenged from the pace of the movements and are encouraged to listen to their own bodies and modify poses as necessary.

Her classes offer sun salutations, creative sequences and follows mindful alignment principles. Emphasis is placed on core muscle strengthening and posture alignment for overall balance. 

  • Gentle Yoga
    The focus of Gentle Yoga is improving balance, building strength, and increasing flexibility all in a gentle yoga format.  This is a perfect class for those looking for yoga thats easy on the joints and supportive of ones whole self (mind, body and spirit).  No previous yoga experience is necessary.  The use of supportive props (blocks, straps, bolsters and chairs) are always available. A great class for Seniors or anyone that want a gentler approach to yoga)

  • Vin/Yin Practice
    This is mixed level hybrid class that overs active movement and deep stretch.
